Pigtails

I started really playing with Abigail's hair recently and it goes in pigtails! It's the cutest thing ever. I can't wait until it gets longer and thicker and I can start putting rollers in it. She just doesn't seem like such a baby anymore.

Abigail's ears are pierced!!

This last Sunday I finally got Abigail's ears pierced. I have been talking about it forever. I couldn't figure out where I wanted to get it done because there was no way I was letting some teenage girl at Claire's do it. So, we went to the mall and saw this place called the Piercing Pagoda. That's all this lady does there and she does about 100 babies a month. I watched her do a 6 month old before Abigail and she did one right after her, so she's really busy. She seemed really knowledgable and did a great job. I was so nervous because I knew it was going to hurt her and I knew it was going to make me cry. Sure enough...we both cried. I think I cried longer so I guess I'm the bigger baby. Abigail did great and she looks like such a little doll now! Even more precious than before if that's possible!

Doesn't this just break your heart? :(

Here's 1 ear. It's hard to get them both in the picture.

Happy Birthday Erica!

Erica turned 24 today! We have a tradition in our family that we always make the same round chocolate cake with milk chocolate icing for everyone's birthday every year. So that's what I did today. I made Erica her cake. It was going great until I finished icing it. I thought that I let it cool enough. It felt cool to me anyway. But after I iced it I let it sit there awhile and when Erica and I walked back over to it it looked like an earthquake hit it. It cracked right in the middle and started sliding all over the place! I must say that has never happened to me before. Maybe I was too eager to eat it. Although its appearance was abysmal, it still was pretty tasty! Happy Birthday Erica!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

My godson is also 1 today! I was unable to go to the birthday party in Oklahoma because plane tickets are so expensive. I wish I could have been there though. Happy 1st Birthday William Mark Hyde III!!!!! Your fairy godmother loves you!

Zoo Fun

Today we took Kaden & Abigail to the zoo for the first time. I've never been a big fan of zoo's and haven't been since I was a little kid, but I thought it might be fun to try it again with the babies. It ended up being way hotter than I thought. It was 88 degrees and I swear 88 is hotter here than in Oklahoma. Erica and I pooped out quicker than I thought we would, luckily the zoo was pretty small and the babies really didn't have a clue what we were doing. Abigail didn't pay any attention to it and Kaden only laughed at the large duck that was squawking at him. That was cute. They did have some strange animals that were neat to see that I really only thought were in movies like the Ice Age. Anyway, we took some pictures that will be cute in the scrapbook. I think it will be a few years before we go again so they are big enough to really enjoy it.

It's Hot!

How cute are they in their shades?

New Pictures

We went and had Abigail and Kaden's pictures made when he turned 6 months old. It was about time we had their pictures taken together. It wasn't a very professional photo shoot, but I think they turned out pretty cute anyway. It is really hard trying to get 2 babies to cooperate, especially when Abigail wasn't sitting up yet and Kaden just wanted to grab ahold of her any chance he got. It was challenging and you can tell it in one of the pics. Well, we can because we knew they were over it at that point. Only 1 more month and we'll be back taking Abigail's 6 month pictures. We've been practicing sitting up for them and she's getting pretty good at it.

They are about to start really fussing here, but it's still cute.

How cute is this one?!

My Best Friend

So I've told some of you the story of Abigail's first best friend. When she first started cooing she would do it every once in awhile and at a reasonable voice level. Then she met the fan....it's this really gross fan that was in my room before my parents moved into the house. It looks like it belongs in some old diner somewhere. It's coca-cola with a bear that hangs down on one of the chains. They've been wanting to take it down, but she will lay on my bed and talk to that thing for forever. She talks louder, with more sounds and with more interest than she does to most people. It's so funny! So I took some pictures of it and I'm going to put it in her scrapbook as her very first best friend.....because it's true. We won't take the fan down now because she likes it so much!
